I'm only just starting to get into climbing after working as a groundy for a few years and need some new boots, was told some boots aren't comfortable when your wearing spikes, has anyone got some advice on any boots to look at/avoid?

Cheers

I wouldn't personally go with Haix protector pros again after my last two pairs have been really poor quality and faul apart after 6months

I always used Stein boots and never had a problem while self employed, I'm now an employee with issued Haix Protecter Pros and they seem fine as well. Probably best to choose a pair with a decent heel that will sit OK on the spikes

Ive listened too various debates on here previously and have come to the conclusion, its down too personal preference, some people like one make, whilst others swear by another, I have a wide foot so find meindle`s tight fitting, others find the ridgid phanners great, ,me personnely wish I`d never ventured from the safe Hiax`s,,,its all down to what works for you!

Meindl Airstreams are a good boot, comfortable straight out of the box. I've had mine for a year now and they have held up well. Comfortable with spikes, nice and slim compared to my old Haix. As long as you don't mind the bright red trim!
