PTO Saw bench advice

I've got a Riko saw bench now.

Went to try and use it for the first time and I can't have the bench on the tractor linkage with the PTO shaft connected as it's too long. And can't have it free standing as it'll flip the bench.

Obviously going to ring Riko in the morning to see if I can swap for a much shorter shaft.

Don't want to sound daft but I'm not doing something wrong am I? Here's a pic to show what I mean. The PTO shaft is just propped there and it's as short as it'll go...

When cutting it down don't do what I did first time. I measured very carefully how much too long the shaft was and then cut the sleeve and the two parts of the shaft down by this amount. Eager to get my splitter running realise I had left no slack to get the coupling on in the first place and had to cut all three part down a bit more :001_rolleyes:

Ha ha yeah I see what you mean! Thanks.

Thanks for the replies. Can you buy shorter PTO shafts off the shelf or do they just come in one length then get cut down to suit? We could use this shaft as it is on the muck spreader etc. if I can get a shorter one to go on the saw bench
