Ha thats almost the opposite to me! I've cut back to be a daddy cos life was too stressful before! Its true tho that now i'm itching to get back at it cos its quite clear i'm getting lazy (and my wife is far better at it all than me) and this is STRESSING me OUT too (laziness not jealousy of wife).

A little bit of what you fancy eh!

Now do we go for the second child shreks - in for a penny I reckon.

Do you think that a lot of the stress comes from the fact that 95% of all domestic work is in out, do it in a day or less jobs? The amount of jobs you need to turn over just to keep busy means you are always chasing work. If the phone goes quiet you stress cos its not coming in.

Add to this high cost of machinary, training, insurance and advertising in our industry its no wonder it gets the better of us sometimes.

I had nothing when I went self employed, no savings and from a family with out a penny to bail me out. I now have my own family, bills, mortgage employees still no savings and seem to just roll from one cheque to the next bill. How can this not stress you out?

I have friends who build or are in landscaping and a job often takes weeks or months. You can afford for the phone to go dead for a few weeks on a job like that. We on the other hand don't seem to have that luxury.

Cognitive therapy is well worth trying - just persevere with it and you'll get results. Its not all these irate customers and rubbish staff that make you angry - its how you talk to yourself (in your head!) about it. They might well be annoying to everybody but there are ways and means to deal with other people without questioning yourself and your ability to cope with it
