just got two new mowers turned up today for less then 600 pound Oleo-Mac G53-TK allroad plus 4 and a mountfield sp533 both 20nhc cuts self propelled and will be out with them Friday earning there keep back

Can anyone help? We have a dozen Rover pro cut 50s and everyone of them has the same problem. Once they are hot they a complete b@#$&!d to start again. Have sent them back to the dealer on multiple occasions and they say there is bigger all wrong with them. Had all the carbs checked out and no problem. This is the second season with these piles of crap and it is getting beyond a joke. Any ideas?

 

Make sure the sparkplugs have been gapped to 20 thou, rather than just shoved in from the box, that should do the trick.

Hotrod81 are the briggs engines on your rover mowers ready start variety?? if so these can suffer poor hot starting when the auto choke is still on when hot , this can be adjusted

Have you checked the plugs during these failed hot restarts? Are they wet with petrol/flooded?

Ive been asked to look at a mower for my mate, its a mountfield with an Honda cgv 135 engine.

I have stripped the carb and give it a good clean through but I need to get a new set of the gaskets that go either side - theres a few

Any ideas? can you get spares for these carbs?

You need the numbers from the plates on the mower engine. These will then ensure the correct gaskets are sent.

 

Have made some before with some good effect.

 

Also getting given an MTD ride on mower soon. Might be a doner for some mower racing...
