What additions would you like to see on Arbtalk

On another (non-Arb) forum I use they have an alert function that automatically tells you when someone has posted to a thread that you've already posted to (similar to when you get an alert for a pm but not quite as annoying )

there are already seperate areas for things like chainsaw carving , milling and hedgelaying.

well yes but thats wood craft,i mean one specificly for turning not making silky handles or tree stump tables just wood turning.

 

in my opinion chainsaw carving is a wood craft but it has it's own forum, is there enough room for a turning one?

How about a setting to restrict you from checking it when you are supposed to be working!

Yeah possibly. i'll be reformatting all the forums so hope to add quite a few extra specialist sub forums....i'll see how it all looks when I get to it

a sub forum would be fine, i think you could get a few in the woodcraft section.

 

woodturning

stick making

rustic furniture

fine furniture

 

to name a few and possibly something to discus what to do with a specific species of timber.

How about a "what timber is this?" subforum within woodcrafting?

I like David Humphries idea, help to keep those interested up to date in the world of Arb, but otherwise I 'm happy with how it is. Works for me:thumbup:
