Its all in how you layer it, the OP said Bacon and egg, bacon on the bottom, egg, then a crack of salt and pepper to flavour the egg, simples

If it's bacon and egg, nothing. The yolk is the sauce. If it's just bacon than either!

Had an egg butty for lunch today and it's red all the way for me with a bit of black pepper. Don't even own any brown

Mix half red with half brown and add a dash of Worcestershire sauce and stir well.

Try it you won't go back.

I think BBQ sauce normally has an artificial smoky flavour, can't stand it
