Got phoned about one today

Its ment to be 4 or 5p cheaper a litre than national average?

Whats the disadvantages

We are on a fuel genie card. Handy and there is a discount. But we can only go to tesco or morrisons

looked in to one before and it ended up being more expensive than "at the pump prices" and they wanted £1k up front on account. that one was through Tesco

We use them- there great. You get a invoice at the end of the month- no need to worry about keeping bits of paper. The company we use even do bulk supply, which is handy.

 

The only disadvantage I would say is your limited were you can use it. But it's not that big a deal.

They are good for all of ecotreecare's reasons. The only issue we have had is that the price can creep up once you start using them - keep an eye on it and let the company know when it goes up and they will discount it again.

Its for bp only , which is fine usually only use them anyway

there are a number of cards out there used to use one all the time for work. get one you can use at most filling stations. as if you get a card just for say bp your stuck with BP and found if i went out of my normal area had to check where bps where can be a right pain if you have to make a 20 mile detour just to fill up. beleive Tescos do a fuel card. and get points on using it.

morrisons do one as well if morrisons are more in your area

I live within 5 miles of 2 bp fuel stations

And not sure of supermarket fuels

Generally the more restrictive they are the cheaper they are, we now use Allstar which you can use nearly everywhere but not as much discount.

 

I tend to use Sainsburys locally as they are usually 5p cheaper as are most supermarkets & BP, bonus is you then get nectar points too.

Through the FSB got put on to a fuel card supplier towards the end of last year. Decided to give it a go.

Each Friday night the price for the following week came through. And each week the price at the Tesco in Elgin was the same, so no saving using the card. So it stayed in the envelope! Then on Xmas Eve I got a £36 bill for non-use of the card. It's in the small print.

Paid the bill, ditched the card.
