yeah no far from me, could see the plumes of jet black smoke from my yard.

 

looked a bad fire, hope no one was hurt.

There was one near me a few years ago, they decided it would take so much water to put it out that it wasn't worth doing, and just let it burn out. Went on for months.

There's been a big wood fire up at Middlesborough which has only just gone out. All the firefighters could do was let it burn itself down and then damp down every so often so there wasn't clouds of smoke everywhere.

Back end of last year there was a fire at a recycling place in Stockport, it burned and stunk that end of town out for well over a week.

 

Wouldn't want to be down wind of that

Apparently it was started by a home made log splitter lawnmower combo that went out of control.
