via affiliation & recognition , in the same way as most things I suppose a brand often sells itsself once enough people talk about it ..... if uptake isnt in sufficent quantity, then it will take longer to gain status for the Guild.

often there is wisdom in the line "you've got to be in it, to win it"

I'm sure that the discussions I & the others have had with tree workers & surrounding industrys are a but small indicator of the strengh of feeling,

The grand total effect can often often be greater than the individual parts that have made it.

We are aware that for sometime, Years if im honest that a need among the industry requiring representation & recognition & many are chomping at the bit...

I think you will agree that anyone who believes that they are professional would be more than happy to stand on the roof & shout it, if they only felt it would do any good.

This sounds like a good idea and anything would be better than the AA who are rubbish. They provide their members with nothing but self obsessed crap, I believe its time for a change!

In my own personal opinion, both yourselves John & Mark, are well within your rights to put forth any negative feelings you may have toward which ever association you feel has under-represented your needs, but.............please be aware that it is not The Tree Guilds place or aspiration to desire to replace the Arboricultural Association or any other trade affiliated body.

For the benefit of us all, we must work beside all that is present and all that came before and respect the good intentions & incredible hardwork that has got our industry, at all the associated levels, ie; Legal. Pratical, Technical, Proffesional & Scientific enhancement to where it is today.

Help yourselves by helping us become the bridge, that is very much needed to link us all together. :001_smile:

Good point well made. But you have to agree there are to many celebrity arborists these days who are only interested in getting their face known and do nothing for the industry. I also get the feeling some so called professional arborists are dictating to the industry for there own fianancial benefit.

Am I wrong?
