I grew up in wraxall (north somerset) and regularly popped over to redhill to get cheese bacon and pork pies from alvis! Oh and a cheeky trip to thatchers at sandford to wash it all down with!

 

I miss home a lot - fed up with Dorset!!!!

Bought some Mexican cheese in tescos which was basically laced with chilli peppers....it's lush, shame it's probably just a Christmas item

 

It's available all year round, they do an extra hot version, which I eat by the block... which may explain my body shape...

i know some one who had a old farm worker in his 70 or 80 who was taught by his mum i think to make stilition years ago start making it again and it was totally different chease it was a lot milder and the reason stilition so strong is the shops what the mold 'blue' through out there wedge when they come to sell it

Try this bread ,lurpak spreadable , blackberry jam extra mature chedder .....nice strong mug of tea to wash it down . Try it you may like it !

They're distant relations of mine. Never met them but they gave my Mum a full family tree when she was doing her side of the genealogy.

Fourme d'Ambert fermiere is a beautiful cheese. Made for hundreds of years in France from unpasteurised milk. Probably what good Stilton used to taste like.
