Bedford MK quite a different animal... more usable, power steering/decent turn of speed.

great for advertising, like already said they will have plenty of time to read your details. If you want it anything but 'private hgv' then all rules governing commercial hgv will likely apply if you are doing domestic work then there are no concessions.

If you do go ahead with it get hold of a Bedford 330 Diesel engine as it will fit straight in, the petrol is hideous and even on LPG will be eyewateringly expensive to run, I had a petrol rl and was lucky to get 8 to the gallon!

Bedford 300 fit green goddess. Also petrol is a lot cheaper than diesel unless you run it on red. I worked of someone how had a Bedford RL that would do 60mph on a dual carriage way.

You will pay a price for a decent 330, there has been good export on them for a while now and as a "vintage" engine they just aren't as common as they used to be

Yeah the 300 petrol is what's in it, the 330 diesel s what you want in it, or Perkins phaser were fitted to the awd version of the mj so should be the same mountings for the Rl, either way get rid of the petrol imo

We have a Green Goddess and it is truely a beast to drive having said that I do love to drive it now and again, wouldn't want to use it for work to be honest.

We also had a 1956 Commer Q which had been an auxiliary fire engine, we used that through the 90's on a regular basis for work, it was like a troop carrier so not sure why it was labelled 'fire engine', we used to move our raft around on it when we did raft racing (charity/fun thing), it did 45mph flat out and you new you was doing it. Unlike the Goddess it has a great big bonnet which houses the engine, the N/S front bumper was guess work as you could not see it.

Would probably have been used as a hose layer or raft unit.
