Husqvarna 560XPG ...yr thoughts .....

For a long time now, I've been advised against using supermarket pump fuel for my vehicles by family (mechanics) and engineers that work in a large refinery in Scotland, I have taken heed and of late I think they are right, so probably stands to reason if you have a virgin saw now's the time to not fill it full of iffy fuel, but I'm yet to be convinced on the Husky Stihl oil / fuel alternatives.

My wife's convinced that her mobile phone manufacturer (they grow on trees) has purposefully inbuilt obsolescence 2 weeks after guarantee expires. I don't share this view, and the idea of Stihl or Husqvarna flogging oil that would lend itself to a similar conspiracy, well who knows, if I follow basic manufacturer maintenance I'd like to think my saw will last beyond 24 months. Here's hoping :)

40 years ago I was a young lad selling car exhaust systems, 12 months warranty and 14 months design life for average short run use patterns. The water in the exhaust gases rusted them from the inside out. Long trips meant the exhaust got hotter and evaporated the water, far longer life.

Have you tried contacting Husqvarna direct, Khriss?

They are quite elusive - and tend to expect the dealer to sort this out , mate , but frankly I think its a technical flaw they should be covering better , Kx

It's a better quality oil, has higher lubricating properties, burns cleaner, saws start better and don't smoke, also smells nicer

Hi all my 560xp with less then 15hrs is still going well thanks Jon

You might have better luck if you take it into the Ulting branch, mate. There is a guy in there (I think he is called Alan, has dark hair and beard) who seems to know what he is about with saws. I have only once been into the branch you are talking about. That was enough. :001_rolleyes:

Edit; The branch I am thinking of that was not great was Fyfield, not Uttlesford. Not sure if that is the same branch as you bought from.

I should think so with 15 hours on Jon I would put that on it in two days

Just a quick one but did the OP calibrate the auto tune by revving the stones off it and cutting bar deep for 3-5 min?? Surly if the auto tune isn't set then it will cause fuelling isuses.

I have a 550xp and it is by far the best 50cc saw ive ever owned.

A lifetime of working on engines and I wouldn`t thank you for an autotune anything, specially with the revs these wee engines are doing ,it`s no surprise that they self destruct if the carb is even a baw hair out.
