Yes Stenner are still going in Tiverton. Quantock engineering wiveliscombe do set up and instillation of them. They know a lot about all these old woodwork machines. Bring them upto current spec and the like.

The one we looked at would have needed to be powered by a genny and i'm sure it was around the 80kva mark we needed for the saw and carriage, another reason we left it alone.

Although I think it may have been a bit bigger than this, was a very long time ago, I remember the pit the bottom wheel was in was huge and so were the blades

Kieth Curtis of Honeysuckle sawmill fame ran a 48" ish stenner totally non electric. He had a 40hp tractor pto driving it and ran the hydraulic bed off the tractor.

You can often pick up 80kva silent set for same sort of money as a 30kva as they are not as popular. Same engineering as a 30 kva just a bit bigger and juicy on the fuel when not loaded. I only have 3x 6kw motors and often not on together and run these on a new 60kva
