Disposable chainsaws?

Sad I know but I grow quite attached to my saws each one a little different so I wouldn't fancy a disposable one as id cry if I had to throw it away.

yer i get attached to my tools as well.

throwing stuff away is not an option for us tool hoarders..

I suppose it's how rich you are? Buy Stihl use and throw away! It's disposable! Expensive but definitely disposable!!!

You'd probably be surprised by any of the Mitox range, I've had my 6224 62cc 24" bar for a good two years now and ok its not strong enough (imo) to run the 24" bar as well as some other makes that might be orange in colour, but it does run it.

I run it now with a 16" bar and it rips really well and as long as it has a clean air filter it runs real smooth.

It starts every time and hasn't let me down apart from a few bolts coming undone but thats happened on my Husky's and Stihl's aswell!! If I hadn't just bought a new stihl climbing saw I'd give one a go at £169 with out even thinking about it!!

Machines don't like being sat about unused IME, you could find that when you get it out when your main saw has let you down it won't run correctly.

 

I bet you it would!! when I bought my husky 390xp I stuck the mitox in my lockup and forgot about it for 6 months, then took it out and it fired straight up with exactly the same routine as when I put it away! two pulls with the choke out it fires, choke in one pull and its away! I didn't even put fresh fuel in it!!

!I only bought it as my last big saw died and I needed a cheap saw with a decent sized bar. Its payed for itself over and over again!

The difference is a Stihl will always have some value, even none runners sell or you keep it for spares, so they don't really get "thrown away".

I know a few hedgelayers who have been doing this for years they go to the dealer and buy whatever stihl or husky is on offer sub £200 run it for the season and sell it on due to the hammer they get hedge laying, reckon these mitox saws might well be worth a try at that money

Just ordered a brochure. £300 ish saved for a 261 equivalent. And the same again for a top handle. That's a basic climbing kit
