I am on the hunt for a replacement for our 1987 3CX, but i am not sure what to get, another backhoe or a loader and track machine as i love the ability to have a duel use machine as most of our work is either reaching over fences cleaning ditches or lane maintenance

 

i like 3cx as you can go so easy from a to b on the farm. but you don't have the slew get on a rubber duck or track machine,

Will be keen to see that when you get it fitted with a grab and the other bits, and also how you find the ZTS for grab work.

 

Seeing photos of 3 tonners does rather make me wish I had gone for one instead of my 2 ton but see how we go with that for now!

Here's our wee 2t Volvo with a bucket and toe combination. Easy moved between sites, expanding track which go down to 1m wide so it fits into tight spaces, will probably lift between 250-500kg depending on the reach. (And yes I know - a stupid place to leave a saw lying.)

5 tonner (U50-3 alpha), steel tracks (obviously), Uniforest 1300 grab with 4t baltrotor. Uniforest grab excellent value for money
