Who you on for doing that, not seen any of the damage up there yet but sounds like it was bad

We’ve been working for NYCC ( client) and also a construction company/ bridge contractor.
It’s very weird really , the flood seemed to only effect the Cogden beck valley, but its gob smacking what damage it’s done.
We’ve been felling large spruces ,sycamores to allow for pile driving machinery and road construction access, had Paul up there today and tomorrow with some of his kit.

That beck didn’t used to flow through that field.

It’s even washed the mature trees away from where it joins the swale, they’ll be phoning us up to pull them out when they find them up against a bridge.[emoji23]

Hi Guys

Its me again the Padawan learner seeking advice from the experienced arb digger Jedis out there in cyberspace.

I am still looking at machines in the 6T category and am now considering purchase of new equipment and so comes up the question of dipper arm length, long or short? If setting up the machine for tree work including feeding the chipper, loading logs, land clearing etc. with a rotating grab would you go for the longer arm option for added reach or stay with the standard length to increase lifting capacity? So far the New Holland E60C, Case CX60C and Hyundai R60CR-9 are being compared.

I think you’ll find that they are all the same machine.

They definitely look similar, all powered by Yanmar. I think the Bobcat E60 and Doosan DX62R-3 are the only other options in the same weight class?

Huyundai build minis for CNH. They are all the same machine. Hyundai usually cheapest but backup has been abysmally slow for me. Gone with bobcat for my new 2.7t machine. 

 

Doosan and bobcat are generally the same too, with a few exceptions. Not sure about that particular model.

Look at the Takeuchi TB260 and Kubota 57 too - they are the best machines in that weight class imo.

And go with the long dipper on whatever you buy - I have never ever wished I couldn’t quite reach as far, but often wish I could reach a tiny bit further.....

Unless you are going to be running primarily an implement with a high build height, or a tilt rotator, or regularly handling loads close to the machines limit... then it’s not such an easy choice.
