My hitachi is zero tail swing & you can tell when you have big lump in it , it has 180 kg counter wight iv had another 1 made to off set the grab weight

just waiting fir it to arrive

Out of pure morbid fascination, and I’m not trying to start a typical Arbtalk slanging match here, but does adding all this counterweight not push the boundaries of what can be towed legally? (Presuming all these are getting towed by Landy, Landcruiser, Shogun etc.) if getting moved about by tractor etc I guess It won’t matter but could see the super tight margins for keeping below 3.5 ton towing weight being eroded away.

My CAT is zero tail swing, it’s what I’ve used for 7 years, wouldn’t have it any other way.i spend more time in narrow places having to turn than I do lifting heavy stuff, plus I drag heavy stuff.

  It’s much smoother I find on your toes than having a normal machine juddering, I had a brand new machine out 2 years ago on demo and I parked it up after 1.5 hrs as my back was killing me.

  Each to their own, if you can make it work, crack on.

Digger weighs in @ 2700kg with extra counter weight & grab rotator trailer weighs 625kg
