The one I have is stronger than a 200 . Not by much but noticeable . More torque in the mid range . You can lean on it and it wont slow down ...

the one we have is the opposite. chain slows down when I push into big wood unlike my 200. maybe it needs more use. its only 3weeks old.

They do improve after a few tankfuls but mine was as good as a 200 from the off . The standard chain is pants . change that bud ...:001_smile: Also the rear (underside ) AV spring bends . I am on my second . I think its dropping it on its strop ...

just read the whole thread i waited 12 months for the 540t to come out and got one on trial thinking it would be a matter of yes i like i'll keep this one and NO!!!

I found it slow on revs not a patch on my 200, don't get me wrong bags of torque with some to spare, after reading this i might ask if i can try again with Oregon vlx chain in place of that bumper link stuff it comes with as standard.

Any one else found similar issue ??

Just out of interest, those having problems with the 540 have you set the autotune? ie run it full throttle through some timber for 5 minutes.

I have some good info about the autotune system somewhere, presentations etc.

Ill dig it out and put a thread up.

Mark, I can't even get it to run full throttle never mind for five minutes. This saw has been out on demo with several different crews so I don't know why just us. Apparently though we are the first to get it after it was sent back so maybe the original problem wasn't actually fixed.

This is totally arse about over here in "good old blighty " ! The T540 saws used here are not " trial saw though " they are production run saws . We have a 201 and the T540 is bloody light years ahead of it .......

The saw we have is not a prototype or trial saw or anything you want to call it. It's a "production run" saw as you put it and should work as such just because it's not in " dear old blighty". I was a real crictic of a 201 so choose words as such carefully that I think it's better than the husky saw even on times when it is running well the balance of the thing is all off and it's not as easy and comfortable to use.
