To be fair Deano this aint that mad. My lady friends dad has a similar set up mounted on a trailer chasis. He originally made it to put a haylege bale wrapper on, meaning it would free up a tractor. He then modified it to put his own brand log splitter on. Good luck with it. I'd rip out everything an start again with a super simple wiring loom. Probably!

We have a little kubota d1105 engine running a hydraulic pump from a burnt out digger (barn fire) works brilliant uses hardly any diesel running about 1500rpm ish (no rev counter) ours has a gearbox which reduces the engine speed down but probably a good thing really as it's quite a big pump and it think the engine would struggle if straight off the fly wheel, Yours should be matched up ready though. Couple of longish pipes so splitters away from engine or can be moved around shed and quick release ends on so can still go back on tractor if needed. I think you'll be happy with it once done.

theres one on ebay for 700 cheap way of powering a splitter what pressure do the hydraulics run at

Not sure about pressure yet, I have a tester but didn't run it as there was water in the diesel tank and other little problems, so decided to just get on with it and get it fully serviced and cleaned before.

It may be a while but I,ll keep the post updated as we go with flow rates and pressures.

On the main pump there's actually 4 outputs.

One drives the steering, one drives the wheel motors, and two hydraulic pumps bolted on the back with two seperate outputs

The two pump outputs will be piped in together with a flow diverter so I can switch from one feed to two feeds together. The steering output will be unused as it will be a low pressure low flow and the wheel drive will be left connected so I can move it about the yard under its own steam.

You could even mount a horizontal splitter across the front of it
