todays 'Orrible job!...18 phone wires thru it and no MEWP hire available. Cleared the wires with AUS polesaw and a stand-off ladder before winching the beast down with the 130.

Extremely busy day today, we had 7 calls before 10am and 13 in total. Did 5 jobs today, and back on it tomorrow and Wednesday.

 

The worst one was a silver birch had uprooted and landed/crushed a garage roof, ripping all the guttering and felt etc off and also smashed a fence and dented the customers brand new (1 week old) Tarmac driveway! It also pulled down the customers and 3 neighbours telephone line.

 

You covering Dorchester ?? nice one down along Bridport rd top of Williams Ave, and ment to have been a few down Ridgeway but have seen proper pic's, all clear Dorchester to Bridport, glad I had chipper already book

we also had a lemming with a camera phone who stood under the tree and did a bit of 'danger-filming', we had a Copper with us all day and he was giving people 'interviews without coffee' when they tried to walk down the road...and he grabbed a broom during the clean up...top bloke

You Must of been driving on roads with no trees, passed at least 10 tree teams today all working away don't normally see any. Covered some miles today though about 230 i think.

Just got a text about a snapped out Liquidambar - due to go there on Wednesday anyway to remove another tree - happy days

Only had this one to deal with and that was on Friday, probably the biggest mass Robinia I've had to deal with. No arial pictures as I was trying to get it down in good time so snapped a few shots where I could when I came down to help chip up

 

The first picture of the crack you could fit 3 fingers in it horizontal, when the weight was removed you could only fit one in!! I fitted the 10ton ratchet strap to help support it then rigged up a couple of blocks and tied the main stem of to support an weight change. And just knocked it out in very large bits. Would of felled it but it wouldn't fit anywhere

 

Around about 55ft tall but a good 80/90ft spread on her, approximately 3-4ft dia base

 

All wood left on site and took a good 3t of chip away.

Nice one mate:) yeah long stretches of roads them. Think the a28 near Chilham was shut today.

An Oak came down just down the road from us but I think on a whole we were lucky in our area.
