Wouldn't bother with a US work truck unless I was in the States - too thirsty/costly to run/expensive on parts/too large, etc, etc

@ Josharb - you were pretty lucky not to have bought that Cruiser, the 3.4 5 cylinder diesel, is probably the worst engine Toyota has built, poor economy, poor power and prone to head problems etc. DO NOT bother, save your money for a 4.2 straight Six or buy a Land ROver!!

70 Series Cruisers are awesome, and just run and run, but £40,000 + !!!???

Are you sure ? Could buy two Land Rovers for that

Here's the thread on its rebuild for anyone interested. And mikes right 4cyl

4x4sweden.se • Visa tråd - Franks Bj75 brukspickisen

I don't think American vehicles are too big for the uk, I've had a small amount of experience driving and towing with Chevys in very tight roads and hairpin bends. Doubt they're any wider (non duallys) than a transit tipper. Certainly much easier to tow with

The newer cruiser pickups don't look like 40k trucks, so i doubt any customers would batter an eyelid at you turning up in one, they look more like a work truck than ANY of the other double cab pickups available

As with all these things price depends on spec and age..

New they are £45-50k + vat depending on spec as a single cab pick up

Double cabs available as well, but LHD..

The last pick up you will ever need

Are you able to show us one or two examples of say, a higher mileage older truck compared to a lower mileage newer model?

Show two with similar spec and prices just to give us a better idea.

I'll be selling my wife's (stupid) Mini convertible in the spring and replacing it with pickup so I'm doing all my research now so that I can make the right decision.

I'll be looking for a single or 'super cab'. If it is just a flat bed I'll get a Pro-Tipper fitted.

Also if you know of costs to bring one into the UK that would be very useful.

Thanks.

Why not buy a Amazon, cut the Cab down and build a Tipping deck on the Back?

That would be worth looking into thought of removing seats ply lining and blacking windows on ours to use as van to replace td5 commercial we have. The d3 and d4 discos now are to electronic and unreliable if we got to have a v6 might as well have a straight six.
