Never been challenged. My record is 11 cans in one go (green, red and yellow).

I usually do about 8 or so at our local garages and they are fine.

My tactic is to take them in the back of my defender and just open the back door, then fill them inside the landy.

I never fill up at the supermarkets anyway, if we keep doing that all the local garages will disappear and we will have drive miles to join monster queues at the out of town Tesco.

Just thought - you are a landy man Defenderjack, why not fill your auxilliary tank at the garage then drain it at home? We must drive these poxy rust-heaps for some reason.

Filled up 4 green cans of unleaded in the back of my truck, diesel in the truck tank, sandwich and a drink for me. Lady cashier asked if I would just like a reciept just for the fuel. Old fashioned thing called service, thank you Godfrey's of Southwater! (Mazda Dealer)
