Shooting season 2013-2014

After today i have realised that i need to re-waterproof my coat. Has anyone heard of using Thompsons Watershield to waterproof coats? If so does it work?

Soaked through to the bones today.

Cracking day though, 84 pheasants 2 partridge and 3 woodies.

 

Dutchie nabbed her usual fireside spot in the pub.

61 and a half brace of partridge and 59 brace of pheasants . Soaked through ! I am going to try Nike wax spray on .

I tried it Matt thinking it would work but didn't have much luck.

I tried Nikwax on my old waterproof (plastic type, not wax cotton type). It was better afterwards, but not as good as a new coat! (Having said that, new coat was 10 years or so newer, so better technology etc. I imagine)

We have two sherwood coats for the colder days, a seeland and a Lavenir all of which leak. We did the nikwax wash in thing and it worked for all of 5 mins. Anything heavier than drizzle and they leaked.

Ah ok. Will spread my horizons further as Nikwax didn't work on our coats. If anything it made them worse:lol:

had a quick walk over the field behind my yard was out for half an hour got two hen pheasants and a rabbit i go out a few nights a week with my silenced 410 and always getting quite a few rabbits i haven't been on a game shoot but im lucky to have permission on over 1400 acres to shoot when i like n and any game or vermin so i do go out with the guns when i get a free moment

I got the idea after seeing a guy reproof his fishing umbrella and he said it worked on that but I tried it on a gortex coat and it didn't seem to improve it. Maybe on another material if might work better ?
