Might sound bad having 3 subarus but second one my daughter went through 6ft high hedge backwards rolled two and a half times and walked away without a scratch. When I got there car was still on its roof and only glass busted was rear window which my daughter crawled out. With help of the local farmer we rolled it back onto its wheels jumped in and it started straight away and I drove it back to the farm. I appreciate my daughter was extremely lucky but I think a large part was down to the strength of the car.

She may have been driving at a more sensible speed and luck was on her side.

Don't buy anything French. When bulb fails on the front if the car it'll cost one million pounds to have it replaced cos they have to remove the bumper, wing, bonnet, roof headrests and shopping!

I did exactly the same thing last year in a legacy estate, I think any other car I would have been dead.

I would have thought they would be great. I used to have a impreza many moons ago. The forester has greater clearance and if you get hold of the correct model they are as fast if not faster than an impreza.

I think that was part of the problem she had not long past her test and was not used to a more powerful car. The 4wd gives a false sense of security going around bends quickly but the tyres will eventually break away if your not used to the power. She must have been doing a fair whack just to get through the old hawthorn hedge.

Hyundai i40 blue motion, (fuel efficient model) 55mpg at 70mph+, 5 year unlimited mileage warranty. Great helpful attitude from dealers re warranty.

Had a Hyundai Santa Fe, did 260,000 miles in five years, even in the last month they were happy to replace something under warranty (cannot recall what).

Parked in a field with horses, one of which used my wing mirror as a scratching post for is ar**, and the wing mirror was left hanging off, was told by the dealer that it should be strong enough to resist this and replaced under warranty.

Hello Mr Ruskins, Did you once own a Ranger Tipper? I can just make out Ruskins Tree Surgery on the door in certain sunlight on mine.
