The trouble with Youtube videos....

Agreed, there are a lot of things that can indeed be learnt from Youtube, it is a resource just as Arbtalk and many others.

However, where is the line to be drawn?

I personally don't think that ariel saw work with rigging is something to play with on the strength of watching a video.

Regards,

Steve.

Who says there is a line to be drawn and if there is who should draw it?

Plenty of people on here get vocal about regulation, do you want more?

Just seen it, he is better than half the qualified arborists I know, he seems to have an aptitude for it which is intuitive, the saw was sharp and so is he. Ok lots of poor positioning and other issues but for a rookie impressive stuff.

I was impressed. He obviously spent a fair amount of time, effort and money to to purchase the kit and learn roughly what he needed to do.

Of course he could have paid someone to knock it over in a couple of hours instead of spending weeks messing about.

A bit rough around the edges but A* for commitment.

I don't know mate, I based most of my "Romantic Techniques" on videos I've watched online!!!:laugh1:

Same here, the better half was a bit miffed when I suddenly froze mid-action and then went on a little later like nothing had happened, but when I explained to her the move was called "buffering" and porn actors use it all the time she became quite appreciative.

I hold up a board with a circle and buffer percentage.

Who says there is a line to be drawn and if there is who should draw it?Don't know who should draw it, but i certainly wouldn't let someone perform brain surgery on me just because they've watched a video

Plenty of people on here get vocal about regulation, do you want more? Not a topic i've entered into debate about on here

The problem with the internet is that anyone can publish anything and there are some people who believe that because something is on the internet it must be true.

Supposing this particular person had followed a video posted by someone who didn't know what he was doing and it ended differently?

Regards,

Steve.
