Sandals and socks - comfort and style or crime of fashion?

Finished off with a knotted hanky on the head. Yeesh, just spent the last two years trying to get my dad to not wear socks with his sandals. He makes it worse by pulling them right up to his knees if he can. Couple that with the below the knee shorts........I'm gonna have to get a photo aren't I?

This thread has brought a smile to my face at many different levels. I have found here Stateside that only European men wear sox and sandals together. Yet to have seen any locals try this in public. I prefer to wear without sox, if you have the right pair from a fit stand point comfort should be a after thought. To each their own of course as long as the fashion police are not having a slow day.

But Americans are very guilty of wearing white sports socks pulled up to the max with their trainers when they are not doing sport.

Another crime of fashion and only 1 step on the ladder above the socks and sandles brigade.

bet they were from mainland Europe as well, the UK is....strictly speaking....not part of Europe, it never has been and never will be, which is why the wearing of socks and sandals in the United Kingdom was outlawed and made punishable by death in 1785 AD

I believe it is now the only law left on the Statute books to still attract the ultimate penalty.

Big J, I used to respect you - my world has been shattered.

I now question all the little tips and tricks of milling that I have picked up from you.

Obviously you know nothing :001_tt2:

Hehehe! :laugh1:

I will state again that the Germans, kings of mobile sawmill manufacture, have realised the benefits of sandals and socks. Check out this page on the Wimmer (the best of all mobile sawmills, according to several different people who have been cutting far far longer than me) website - the last picture perfectly illustrates my point!

I sit corrected, SOL, snicker out loud since I don't want to wake up the shorter better half.

Thanks
