Sniff

a Steyr Daimler Puch

A real 4*4 in that it lock all four wheels to drive together (selectable on the fly 4by and ditto front and rear diff locks.

Mind you all 4 wheels simply sat and spun when I tried to pull out the stuck Pre-mix truck.

Bloody gravel.

Plus 2 other lesser "Gay" Wagens

I have had a Nissan terrano:not up to the job.

Non turbo Hilux: brilliant but dated and gutless by todays standards.

Turbo Hilux, brilliant.

Nissan Navarra. brilliant

Land Rover; awful just bloody awful!

Ford Ranger;Brilliant, not too glamourous but cheap and willing.(Same as Mazda but different badge)

Was about to echo your comment re the b2500/ranger :001_rolleyes:

Good trucks if you keep the engine up to scratch service wise.

Will, mines about 9 years old now but the top model. Weirdly tho it has the leather seats but not the electric adjustment. Wanted leather as fed up with scrubbing mud,dog hairs and blood off material seats, now when I can be bothered a quick hoover and a few wet wipes and its all freshened up.....it lasts atleast 2 days like it
