Timberwolf TW125PH, anyone used one?

We did have a chipper before, a pto greenmech one but because it was tractor mounted we couldnt take it far from college, least now we can tow this one wherever we like.

 

I feel privaliged to use the kit we have, there putting us through nptc mewp ticket soon, in training for it at the moment. Also got my chipper ticket before christmas.

 

Which college you go to mate?

 

im at warwickshire college (moreton morrell) they have not even showed us a mewp yet!! good luck with your tickets mate. im booking my climbing and aerial rescue in the next few weeks.

Used the chipper for the first time today, must say i was very impressed. Seemed abit tempremental to start at times but with havinng the pull start there aswell as the electric start there was never a problem if you drained the battery trying to start it.

I have a TW125 that I purchased from Orange Plant, great chipper and orange plant were a pleasure to do business with cheers.

From warm give it a bit of throttle, pull the choke out, turn it over to start it,and push the choke back in when she fires up. I only use the pull cord when im changing blades,iff you have to rely on the pull cord to start it, then one is either strong as an ox and not best suited to use modern plant, or the machine has a fault.

i can vouch for this fact on at least one of baz's 125's as i hired one to do a job, delivered on site at 9 o clock returned to depot by 10.30 as the customer didn't want me to chip as it made a mess on his flower beds which was where we had agreed the chip was going. He wanted me to chip into a dumpy bag and then empty the dumpy bag on the beds:ohmy:. needless to say afew choice words were uttered and i told him to get someone else to finish the job, which cost him twice as much:001_cool:

Have used my mates and found it a good little machine.

 

My concerns about the longevity of the petrol engine have been somewhat alleviated by some of the responses in this thread!

 

Didn't they used to do a diesel engine version but discontinued it for some reason?

 

yes they did, they said they only sold 300 and discontinued it, begging them to remake one, no joy had the small diesel and i LOVED it, would buy another tomorrow if they did them again.

I had a 25hp TW, alright and all that but not a patch on the 35.

I used a timberwolf tw125 when I was at cannington about 3/4 years ago. It looked like a new machine back then as it doesnt get much use and it is stored in a shed. Used it a few times then and it was great for a small machine. Maybe a little slower then a bigger diesel but then it is bit cheaper. sure beats milling it up in a trailer or stacking brash on the trailer.

Mike cullen is a great guy. An real assest to the college
