I have a good relationship with the folks at DMM and I know they are very keen on seeing products that fail and are fantastic to deal with. They revel in the challenge of fixing problems with their gear so that these problems dont crop up in future products.

I used warm water the thing is I've always cleaned them in warm water, that's the only DMM krab I've got, the rest are ISC krabs and I've had no issues cleaning them. I'm from up north so I bought it from gusthearts. Honestly I'd have another one I liked it and it worked well maybe I got bad one.

Bring it back mate, we'll exchange it and send that one back to DMM for their assessment.

Would you kindly ask them to improve gate reliability please. Thy are as far as I am aware the only major carabiner manufacturer who use the plastic spring tip on their gates, twice this year I have seen these fail with other climbers.

They are also the most prone to sticking, I personally had asked to see if they could improve them, they told me it was lack of maintenance by end user!

Let's see them take up the challenge!

dmm krabs after a while just don't snap shut, where as my petzl bang shut every time.......

Strange...DMM make petzl hardwear, and ISC at the factory in Llanberis. Very likely to a different spec tho......
