We,ve both Husq HE4 and Stihl ones. While we are devoted Stihl chainsaw users, Husqy long reach definitely have the edge over the Stihl ones. We use Echo ordinary hedge cutter mostly now, but years ago had a run of gearbox problems with the long reach ones - they may have been improved now so may also be worth a look at.

We have 2 Husky long reach and a single sided one . The first long reach is older and is a goodun . The second long reach is only 2 weeks old and looks almost identical to the older one but our dealer had to go through half a dozen to find one with an earlier carb . It seems a few weeks ago they started coming in with a different carb and these are a pain to set up and keep in tune .

I've had an Echo for two years and it works brilliantly.

You can't bash it through the thicker stuff without getting problems but the 'triple cut' blade deals with the thicker stuff very well with less muscle effort from me.

I'll be getting another.

Oh, and don't forget the all essential accompaniment to any hedge cutter:

the Easy Lift Harness.

Sent with my iPhone from me, to you!

Just replaced my old Stihl HL75 (I think) with the Echo as I didnt want a 4 mix engined Stihl. They are ok, nice cut but managed to jam the gearbox on the first outing, adjusting the angle of the head isnt as easy, and they wont take the abuse my old ones did.
