it doesn't look like a gas axe, more like a set of hydraulic cutters. but even on the yale lock it looks like they just snipped straight through that as well. our stump grinder was behind the chipper, which they pulled out to try, but I think they only had one truck otherwise that would have gone as well. yes we are insured, so I'll see what they say today.

Good news. The police noticed my chipper at the back of a gypsy site in Kempston, just outside Bedford, went in a got it back for me. Obviously no one will be prosecuted, but in the last few years quite a few chippers have been recovered from this site alone.
