Support your industry shows

since most of the shows are south of border, it becomes very expensive for us guys north of the great divide to get to them, how about some a bit further north for a change

Not just you who gets no shows near by. The closest for me is Longleat and that is still a good 2 hour drive and I am good 2 hours closer than those in the far South West of Cornwall.

How many Arbtalkers will make the effort to attend our industry shows, at present there are so many threads on here in relation to past shows poorly attended, manufacturers changes in distribution policy and lots of new products being launched to the market.

Where better a place to see, hear, discuss and of course take advantage to make your purchase face to face than the shows.

Next week is the Arb show in Cirencester on Friday 14th and Saturday 15th take advantage of this and enjoy the craic with your suppliers and fellow Arbtalkers, it's your show which needs your support.

See you there:thumbup:

Do you work for the Arb Assn?

You do know this show is one of their major money earners don't you?

I would say its up to them to make the show interesting enough, shopping I can do on line.

NO mate I don't work for the AA

I am the Oregon area manager for the south, Kent to Cornwall, Northern Ireland, CI and the IOM.

Shows will die without support regardless of whose show it is or where, how many Arbtalk members are there ? and how many people attend on average the Arb show ? I'm sure Steve can answer this one, and of course it is hard for people who are in the far corners of the land, that's why i'd like to see it move around like the APF used to.

Yes, my point was that it doesnt matter to the industry if the shows die or not, and Arbtalkers have no duty to support the shows just to keep them going. If they are good and people want to go and have money to spend then they will go, if not they wont. The industry does not need the shows, the suppliers needs customers of course but they dont have to go to the shows.

In fact, arbtalk provides a huge resource of pictures and of course opinions about all types of kit so it might be that the huge number of arbtalk members is the reason for less attendance at shows? We can see it all here for free!

See you all on the Friday!

Perhaps they should die off, as you say if there isn't the demand they will expire

There are many reasons the APF is a Bi annual affair and demand is one of them.

Once upon a time there was only the APF now there are a lot more shows and that will reach saturation point.
