I was just wandering if any of you guys run a second work truck i.e.4x4 apart from just a tipper.

Wouldn't mind getting something cheap and cheerful to run about in so I haven't got to use my transit all the time, so just a bit of advice on what 4x4 you'd suggest. :001_smile:

pete is right the do have rust problems, chasis tube, sills and rear arches are the main common ones, the rear seatbelt anchor points if its a 7 seater.

most are old and high milers, but if you do pay decent money for a good looked after example, you should have no problems running one for another 5/6 year.

im after one myself as there a good old fashion mechanical go anywhere truck, just cant find a decent one.

atkinson daihatsu automotive is a specialist in stoke i think, if you want to know anything about them just give them a call, a very helpful bunch of lads.

I use a 110 landy with full boarded roof rack. Good platform for accessible hedges.

Winch on front for 'hekping' with awkward felling/lowering and a cooker/sink inside for remote cooking/brewing.

I also have a peugeot expert 'wheelchair' van which is perfect for loading the stump grinders. It does 40+ mpg.

Both are great support vehicles

Back in November I got myself a ranger and so far I am very impressed and have bit of a soft spot for it. Was looking at getting a little van to run about in but after ins quotes there was not much difference and my annual mileage is very low so bought the ranger s far so good.
