Good morning all spent yesterday splitting some green knotty beech with the new axe and got to say Iam very impressed started of over reaching but got that sorted and it went great after .Has anybody managed to break one

Yep broke ours last week. Contacted fiskars they said send a picture. I did and they replied asking me where did I buy it as it looked like an import. I said it was brought off the Internet, I thought it was Poland (EU?). No reply as yet. It broke just below the head.

How did you brake yours?

 

Just splitting. Nothing out of the ordinary. There was a mark on it where it looked like someone had missed and hit the shaft on a log. That was where the break was.

Hope its not some attempt to weazel out out of the warranty?

 

Surely they are all identical, kind of sounds like they are sugesting "imports" aren't as strong though? :001_huh:

 

All in UK must be imported as they don'y manufacture in the UK?

Only managed to brake my cover to date. Best to take it off before commencing splitting :blushing: Done about 100M3 and still pretty much as new.

 

Hahaha.

 

I did exactly the same thing, about a day after buying it.

Me too.

 

And now we're going to be the ones responsible for a sticker saying 'Warning: remove cover before using'!

 

Oh the shame...
