I worked for Barclays for 23 years before being made redundant and now I am self employed I bank with....................Barclays! They have more branches in locations that I visit regularly than other banks, online banking is great and as my personal accounts are with them as well it simplifies my transactions.

And as for:

They are both banks, run by bankers, they dont do you ANY favours!

Correct! Banks are businesses just like yours believe it or not, so no, they won't do you any favours but there again I have not come across any businesses that do do favours.

I have no experience of Natwest but Barclays lost 40 k of my money on 2 seperate occassions and took nearly 6 weeks to return it. I have now paid off my mortgage to get rid of them. IMO the worst bank ever x 10. I have been with Santander business banking for at least 10 years with no problems.

I would'nt touch Natwest with a bargepole, they have had my business account twice in the past and I had nothing but trouble both times despite assurances to the contrary, they will screw you anyway they can :sneaky2: I have'nt used Barclays for the business, mainly because there our nearest branch is about 7 miles away, they were very helpfull when I was considering moving my business account last year, mind they all are when after a new customer :laugh1: I've been with Lloyds for nigh on 15 years now, have had a few niggles in that time but seem to be best of a bad lot to be honest :001_cool:

Don't expect to get any better with barclays.

I have been with them for 34 years, god only knows why, their business banking is a joke but I do have the most excellent personal account manager, and he is the only reason I stay.

reviews, meetings are an opportunity to sell you some ppi or similar. Once you have a crap endowment or pension round your neck you look at banks in a whole different light.
