Yeah but my point is, even an hours climbing would likely put some wear on a rope, theres literally not a strand out of place on the small section we can see here. The pulley saver is confusing me too

A dodgy ZigZag? Doesnt instill confidence if you're 20m in the air. Just seen a picture of the supposed failed ZZ. I'm sure if it's a true picture it will make it's way on here sooner rather than later.

I would be amazed if the alleged failed item wasn't under lock and key as part of a health and safety investigation, quite where these pictures fit in is strange, the condition of the rope is noteworthy but if it is the ziger in question it is possible that it was removed from the rope and that's been put there to demonstrate the ziger.

Looks like a test picture to me.

 

There is no extrusion of the Alloy,rather it has fractured neatly indicating a liner over-load.If that had happened whilst attached to that rope in a work situation one would suspect visable rope damage.

 

Had this occured in a shockloading senario via torsion,I would have expected some sepparation of the tow plates that make up the Zigzag.
