I haven't used the zig zag but I was thinking about it the other day and wondered what would happen if you tried something along the lines of that shown in Joe Harris' spiderjackery video with it.

Re. The strength of the connectors on a ZZ. The ZZ is, in essence, a replacement for the pulley and friction cord in a Hitch Climber system. Now I haven't handled a ZZ but it doesn't look as reassuring to clip onto as the two side plates on hitch climber pulley.

I'm sure i read somewhere that Petzl said the top hole connection was engineered and built the same as the rig and grigri. I dont own a grigri but the attachment point on my rig certainly appears much more robust than on my zigzag?

 

Anyway the zigzag makes a good paperweight on the office desk for now.
