If you'd have laid your cards on the table at the start, staying what size the timber was, where it was, maybe asked about legalities of taking FC wood, this forum might have received you a little better and given you some proper advice.

Someone might have some timber they want shifting on a job near to you. If you'd brought the guys down a bacon sandwich they might have sawn it up into logs for you.

now I think about it I should of been a bit more forthcoming from the start

Maybe there is someone out there that would let me do all the work and go 50/50 on the wood
