Got given this today

It's a long story but a mate of mine was storing this 4x4 on someone else's land and he was told to get it shifted TODAY. He's working miles away at the moment so he rang me and said if I shift it I can have it. The reason he has to shift it is the alarm keeps going off which is upsetting the neighbours. It's been into more than one garage to get the alarm sorted but it keeps going off. Apart from getting an auto electrician to sort out the alarm has any one got any idea what could be causing it to keep going off. It will go weeks and be ok then it goes off again.

The alarm could be some sort of battery drain. They normally work if the light goes on and the battery drops below a charge.

Some have a sensory dial that can be turned down so its not like living with a scitsofrenic patient.

Seems a bargain!

I'd just cut the wire to the alarm speaker....

Supposed to be a good towing car, but is it petrol?

Depends if the alarm is also with the horn or not. But if it continues with sound could knacker the ignition. All depends on the alarm make and fitting.

It's a 2.5 diesel (orvis model) what ever that means. It's got 11 months MOT and the tax runs out at the end of this month.

Will cutting the wire to the speaker make the immobiliser to kick in ?
