We also ran a big old jonesered and a partner both of them were good too!

When I started climbing, we mainly ran the 'yellow perils', they were much preferred to the Jonsereds. Your post's just back some very old memories

That's it, big yellow fellows.... I was running them about 1989 in the mill we used em for all sorts trimming lumber, cutting bearers etc left outside in all weathers and no problems as I recall. We switched to Stihl in the 90's !

But that was back when men were men:biggrin: there's been some big changes over the last thirty years. You can't climb a tree properly now unless you've a zigzag apparently:lol::lol::lol:

Neither can I. Started at 16 got given a big old partner and told to start sending mill lumber and to do it right or else ! Learned from working with a 70 year old who didn't wear any kind of ppe and smoked a pipe continually. Happy days

Don't go off on one! But aren't Maccullochs owned by Husqvarna same as Stihl own Nilsfix these days.

I was in the suppliers collecting gear and the guy who runs the place was saying, wish I'd known earlier as the nilsfix jet wash( exactly same spec as the Stihl only different colour scheme) was £100 cheaper.
