I had a big Jon back in the day , all metal , no chain brake and no AV I seem to remember ! Doubt I could even pick it up off the ground now a days !!!

 

But that was back when men were men:biggrin: there's been some big changes over the last thirty years. You can't climb a tree properly now unless you've a zigzag apparently:lol::lol::lol:

Know what you mean,when i was growing up lots of blokes in my village had chainsaws,danarm,mc co,s,partner and no one used earmuffs,helmets,any kind of protection whatsoever,the saws didnt have chain breaks and i cant remember 1 accident.

Neither can I. Started at 16 got given a big old partner and told to start sending mill lumber and to do it right or else ! Learned from working with a 70 year old who didn't wear any kind of ppe and smoked a pipe continually. Happy days

Don't go off on one! But aren't Maccullochs owned by Husqvarna same as Stihl own Nilsfix these days.

I was in the suppliers collecting gear and the guy who runs the place was saying, wish I'd known earlier as the nilsfix jet wash( exactly same spec as the Stihl only different colour scheme) was £100 cheaper.
