hey guys going buy a stihl 362 in next week intending on running it on a 20" bar not sure about cutting performance on this guidebar... had husky 365special on 18inch but its on its way out. any feedback welcome:D

HI BEAR im told the best 60cc saw now out there is a 560xp with a 15/18 ins bar but then that just me :thumbup1:jon

run a stihl 036( same saw but older) runs a 20" ok but a lot better on an 18" thats what its running at current

I run 20 on my ms361 and its great, makes me wonder about the husky 560 wanting a 15-18 inch when its the same cc?

I run a 362 on s20 inch bars, they pull them fine. The 560 is a better saw generally but not as good as the 362 pulling bars over 18 inch imo.

I would say that the MS362 is perhaps the worst regarded of the modern Stihl range. When you compare it to it's predecessor, it's limp and wooly.

 

Go for the 560XP.

dont forget lads, the 362 is on 3/8 chain & the 560 is on 325 chain, it may make the 560 a tad quick , any body got it on a 3/8 chain

I used to have an MS361 and it was indeed a lovely saw. Only sold it as it had the annoying easy tension side cover and was a touch too large for our work. I use a 550xp all day in almost exclusively hardwood and it's superb. It is just much quicker than it's Stihl counterpart.
