Officially, the warranty runs out at 2 years or 60k miles. We had four of the 2.2/4pot things and a 3.2/5pot. The 3.2 had a dual mass at 35k under warranty not long back. I've not had good experience of the supplying garage although my little local Ford place are spot on!

Good motor 148000 on mine 09 plate. Good point if the cam belt goes 09 onwards the engine design is for it NOT TO CLATTER. Mine went in France only cost the belt kit and it is the easiest I have ever fitted ( ex motor mechanic)

Bad point the gearbox tends to drop out of top gear when accelerating I have had two they both did it and friend has one, his started doing it. All I do is on long journeys is stick my knee behind the gear lever.

Hi openboater,

I had some 4+2 leafs made up for my 07 supercab post conversion. It sits well now and copes admirably when fully loaded. Not a great deal of difference in the ride either, though obviously slightly stiffer, but on the plus side does handle better!

Does the back bar get in the way when chipping? does the chipper blow over the top of the bar or do you take the bar out?

Quite right, the bar does get in the way sometimes. But it's easy to lift out if needs be. Alternatively the tipper can be raised up so it shoots over the bar. If I'm not taking ladders to site then I may leave the hood and bar off, and just have the box.

I have to say I like the fact it breaks down to a dropside/flat bed, often comes in handy.

Damn me but another one of our Rangers lost oil pressure without warning and is in the garage! Doubt if we will bother with them again

Yes Jim, both 2.2, same age too. As an interesting point, anyone suffered myther with that engine in Transits or LandRovers? What else is it used in?

Has anyone experience DPF issues with the new ranger? Seems to be the bane of new dmaxs and rangers.
