I wondered when you were gonna get your hands on a ZZ Ian....good to hear your opinion:thumbup:

I'll be honest with you paul if i didnt climb srtwp i would buy one. Regardless of the lifespan of a rope i really think its a good piece of kit, stupidly responsive when you almost assume its going to need the same force as a lj or sj. Good job im used to bombing it out on a uni or i may of had a brown pants moment :thumbup1:

I have not been convinced that a zig zag is bad with an rw. If its ok with a Munter as it says in the instructions, why would it be bad with a rw?

I agree, although I think the petzl instruction lack clarity.

two types of people buy the zigzag....new climbers....and old climbers..........

Rephrase that to "in the know climbers"

Snooze you loose, you carry on if huffing and puffing and wasting energy, the older climbers will probably do what you do but make it look a lot easier :001_smile:

I don't think there's nothing wrong with using it with a RW but I wouldnt keen myself using it SRT, I just think a hitch is just as good and can't see it benefiting my climbing anymore than a £25 piece of hitch cord :)

Indeed Adam, the only reason I can see is if your climbing style jumps between srt & drt on the same tree lot.

However for me it would have to be specific in the use of srt config for me to part with that much money when like you said a bit of hitch cord will do the same.
