Anyone know the restrictions on it ?

Neighbour had some tree work done over the weekend and had a visit from someone "other half thinks environment agency" and a couple of special constables who told them to stop due to complaints about the noise.

Can this be right ?

No chipper by the way.

Not sure of the relevance of that link!

I'd be interested to hear the outcome of this one.... I use my saw at home on Sundays for cutting wood. Avoid firing up before 9.30 but other than that, all systems go, and grass cutting and strimming.....

There might be restrictions on use in a commercial setting but for DIY purposes I say crack on, just not at the crack of dawn or into the evening..... :thumbup1:

And probably environmental health rather than environment agency. EH are the ones who deal with nuisance....

As far as im aware chainsaws on a sunday could be classed as noise pollution the same as a dog barking etc if somebody complains I do a lot of logging over the weekends but thankfully nobody has ever complained I think the rules differ from area to area but would be enviromental health issue and down to who ever complained and how often they put in the complaint as to how they deal with it

ive been on site at 8am on jobs before now, however that was a very busy main road near a busy set of lights and sunday was the quietest day to do it! we held noise off as long as possible, probably cutting around 9.

been asked to keep the noise down at 10.30 on a weekday before now though!
