Anyone know the best gloves cheap glove for clearing blackthorn , many thanks

 

just pulling out the last thorn for today

Use your hands as little as possible. Leather gloves if need be then a fork into the chipper

You may not think they're cheap when you find they'll cost you £25 or thereabouts but they're better than anything else you've ever tried for thorn, bar chain mail.

 

The best leather, then an inner with Dyneema (stab-vest material) and stainless steel threads!

 

Trust me, I'm a hedge layer!

Work issues these for using with silky's and when handling thorns or other objects which may puncture; even for lowly s&p's.

i use welding gauntlets from tool station £3 a pair brill for blackthorn. as i lay hedges and blackthorn is the norm i find these very good not had a thorn go in them and for £3 can not go wrong. last a good time and once you have used them become easier to work in them. as for thorn beware keep a eye out and if it goes red go to doctor. blackthorn this time of year is nasty all the sap is rising so more potent than normal.

Welding gloves, fairly cheap and more thorn proof than anything else I've found. Never struggled to use a ground saw in them, top handles are a bit more dicey though.

where do you buy them doing hedgelaying as you know. i use welding gauntlets and good but be good to have a very good pair that last. how long do they last for
