I would be interested to see a comparison with an MS200T/201T..those little husky T435's are clockwork powered aren't they? Looks like a great little tool for light reductions/thinning...etc...I'd be interested to give one a whirl...

In the video the electric one is held staight throughout, whereas the petrol on is angled, on this kind of test I would have thought that could make a differnce??

I think the fact that it is even comparable is amazing, it won't be long before their use is obligatory in urban settings. (obviously that's just my take on it!)

Well it looks like we are going to have to change our ways so insted of scoffing when the old lady asks if we need electric for our saw we will smile sweetly and say well actually any chance I can plug my charger in somewhere?

 

Of course the customer will expect the new customary discount for providing power to charge your batteries

yeah but how do you charge on the job or out in the woods? Say battery lasts 30 mins at full whack; need 14 batteries a day...

 

That's a stupid assumption and you know it.

First. It's not a saw that you take with you in the woods. At least we don't do pruning jobs in forests where I live.

Second. A 30 minutes full whack times 14 means you are up in a tree for seven hours revving your saw full throttle while climbing throughout the tree???

 

You never continuously use your saw while pruning for 35 minutes.

Even the odd take down can be done with one battery until the big cavalry has to come up.

 

I never take my charger with me on the job.

For a complete days work most of the times the two batteries will be enough, but I will buy an extra set of two.

Some days with multiple take downs I have to fall back on my petrol chainsaws and let me tell you one thing. That's no fun when you and your surroundings are used to battery power.

To be honest I'm tempted. VAT quarter ends in 3 days.

Trouble is I think it will be the same as DeWalt batteries especially with circular saws. I'm, talking 18V and 3ah batts. They start great then tail off. How have you found this with your use. Or is it still too new.
