oh right great stuff cause i really like the look of them, but only want one i can climb in.

 

yeah it will probably be this time next year before we see them then, supose we have to think at least they are making a dangerous industry as safe as they possibly can :boring:

Well I've spent two days in my new Protos.

 

The ear muffs are easy to use and are adjustable for pressure against your head for a firmer or looser fit.

The cradle is very easy to adjust and the cushions are thick and attached with velcro to make cleaning easy.

The chin strap is easier to adjust than the Petzl strap. (I should point out I've never worn any other helmet to climb in other than cheap ones many years ago.)

 

The BIG question is the ventilation. It's the subject that created the most squabbling on previous threads.

Well, normally I'd find condensation on the inside of my Petzl Vertex Vent. There was definitely none in the Protos, which was a surprise as I was really exerting myself in the afternoon.

There was no breeze at all so I can only assume that the ventilation really does work better than the helmets we are used to. Logic dictates that it should.

 

Super comfy so I like it a lot.
