Like has been said above tracked is the most effective, it will be rare that you can't use it on a job whereas all the others you will be lucky to get to use them, most of the time truck mounts can only get to half of the tree if it is roadside. Tracked can be taken over lawns and round the backs of houses, bit of a pain setting up and doing long roadside runs but you can't have it all. Two hires a month should pay the finance

Outreach is the most important factor imo and truck mounts usually have rubbish outreach unless they are 30m plus

I have a truck mounted MEWP, for my situation it was more beneficial to have something I could get one of the lads to drive, I think there are pros and cons to all MEWPS but you know where your work is, either way you only need to hire it out a couple of times a month and its paid for.

Truck mount is very limited use unless you do a lot of LA roadside stuff, tracked can do everything all the others can do plus much much more, my tracked machine is only 18m but it has 11m outreach which comes in many many times, it can also fit through a 900mm gap and setup on slopes

I know some guys who have a 27m Ruthmann on a cabstar. It's an awesome piece of kit, and even does 15m horizontal at ground level. It also self levels and can jack in various different ways, meaning you can still get up in a space not much wider than the truck itself, or have all four jacks out wide for good stability. The setup on it has to be the best I've seen, you literally get in the basket, push a button, it drops its legs and levels, you're off the ground. Takes approx 30 seconds from getting out the cab to being in the air:001_cool:
