Funny lines that customers come out with!

Me: Our charges are (for example) £1 per hour, it may take a few hours it could take more depending how much you want of etc...

Customer: No!! I want a price for the job!

Me: OK £4.

Customer: Accepted.

Me: Finished, that'll be £4 please.

Customer: But it only took you 2 hours, it should be £2!

 

 

This is why you never give daily or hourly rates, always a price for the job.

You finished the job you priced and was told to do, pack gear away and all tidy... Go to the customer for payment and to see if everything is ok (whilst thinking to yourself, nice early finish today) and they say I've decided I want the other tree mullered as well

It was mid February and very cold indeed, as our customer popped home for lunch.

He then went inside and made himself some dinner and a hot drink.

After a while he came out and went back to work.

Had a phone call from someone asking if I trimmed bushes. After saying that yes I did shrub pruning, she asked if I did different styles. Now I was pretty knackered so I didn't catch on and said "oh it's topiary is it? yes that's no problem I quite enjoy trimming topiary". And yes you've guessed she pipes up "Well I was thinking more Brazilian". As soon as I'd grumpily said yes very funny and put the phone down it came to me. What I should have done was tell her that I'd need to have a good look at it first.

One lady who's garden we were working in pointed to a cedar tree and said "see that branch .. it keeps falling off "... me and my mate were really struggling to contain our laughter !!
